Winter Problems
Cold
weather in diesel fuel causes: 1. wax formation, 2. ice crystals and 3.
poor stability. The result is a loss of mileage efficiency, power and
increased downtime.

Actual Wax from Gelled Diesel Fuel |
Wax Crystal Formation - Cold
weather wax buildup on fuel filters or gelled fuel can stop an engine
DEAD! As the temperature drops, the waxy components in all diesel fuel
begin to form small crystals – this is the cloud point. As the
temperature drops further, crystals connect to form a lattice network
that thickens diesel fuel. Ultimately the fuel can gel and prevent flow
through filters and small lines leading to the injectors. - Ice Crystals - When the temperature drops below 32º, any water that is
contained in diesel fuel has the potential of crystallizing, blocking fuel
filters and fuel lines.
- Stability - Diesel fuel has the tendency to degrade from exposure to air and
heat during storage. This "normal" environment leads to the formation of
insoluble residues or deposits in tanks that eventually are spread through
out the fuel system. Heat stressing the fuel at the injectors and pump can
also cause the fuel to break down and deposits to form.
PREVENT WINTER FUEL PROBLEMS
Cyclo’s Diesel Fuel Conditioner + Anti-Gel
3 Products in One
1. Anti-Gel – Winter Protection 2. Deicer and Water Remover 3. Fuel Stabilizer
Cyclo’s
Advanced Formula Diesel Fuel Treatment is designed to help prevent the
major problems and downtime caused by cold weather diesel fuel wax, ice
crystals and poor stability. This unique formula, which contains no
alcohol attacks and helps reverse the effect of paraffin wax, water and carbon – the three major problems associated with diesel fuel.
Cyclo Advanced Formula - Diesel Fuel Treatment
Lowers operating temperature up to 50ºF • Prevents fuel filter plugging
from wax or ice • Disperses water • Prevents rust & corrosion •
Melts ice crystals • Keeps injectors clean
THE RESULT IS: REDUCED DOWNTIME! BETTER FUEL MILEAGE! INCREASED POWER!

1. ANTI-GEL System – Winter Protection - Cyclo Advanced Formula Diesel Fuel Treatment combines
an excellent cold flow improver and a pour point depressant
to inhibit wax crystal formation. It provides up to 50ºF lower
operating temperature than untreated fuel (depending on the
fuel and treatment level – see chart) to help prevent fuel line
and fuel filter plugging.
- Wax Crystal Formation - The Cyclo anti-gel system is
different than many competitive brands because it alters the
crystal structure as the wax molecules begin to separate and
settle out of the fuel. Most important, Cyclo performs the
harder job of reducing the cold filter plugging point (CFPP) temperature.
2. WATER REMOVER & DE-ICER - Aviation Approved - Removes Water and Prevents Ice Crystal Formation
Cyclo’s high quality de-icer inhibits ice crystal formation to prevent
blocked fuel filters and fuel lines. This formula permits water to be
blended into the fuel in a very fine dispersion to safely burn the
water in the combustion chamber. Cyclo also coats the system to prevent
any ice crystals that may form from sticking to fuel tank or fuel line
surfaces. This will prevent blockage while the de-icer melts the
crystals.
- Helps Prevent Rust!
Water in fuel can cause severe rusting of injectors and pumps. Cyclo
controls water to prevent rust and fuel system corrosion.
3. Fuel Stabilizer - Cyclo
helps maintain fuel stability to reduce carbon and varnish buildup and
helps keep fuel injectors clean. Cyclo is formulated to assure good
storage stability and protect against deterioration at elevated engine
temperatures.
Diesel
fuel itself, is the cause of major operational inefficiencies in diesel
engines in both warm and cold weather conditions. The physical and
chemical composition of diesel fuel, if untreated will cause waxing,
clogged fuel lines, fouled injectors, and excessive smoking. All this
can be treated and avoided with Cyclo products. |
Year-Around Problems
Although
diesel engines have improved greatly in recent years, they still start
to lose efficiency and power after several thousand miles of service.
The problem is caused by diesel fuel – a fossil-based fuel that
contains natural contaminants. All diesel fuels tend to form varnish, gum and carbon on injectors which can harm performance and waste fuel. As injectors and injector nozzles gradually
become plugged, it is harder to ignite the fuel. The results are lost
power and black smoke. An effective way to restore the engine to peak efficiency is fuel system cleaning.
PREVENTS YEAR-AROUND FUEL PROBLEMS
Cyclo’s Diesel Fuel Injector Cleaner
Cyclo
Diesel Fuel Injector Cleaner, C-21 - Cleans injectors and fuel system •
Restores performance to save fuel • Reduces smoke emissions • Removes
water • Lubricant for low sulfur fuel
HOW IT WORKS!!!!!
Cyclo
Diesel Fuel Injector Cleaner is formulated to remove and prevent
carbon, gum, and other residues that build up in the fuel delivery
system and to disperse the residue so that it is safely burned in the
combustion chamber. This action helps keep the injectors clean and
operating efficiently, which also acts to reduce smoking.
SPRAY PATTERN TEST RESULTS
Cyclo
Diesel Fuel Injector Clean is designed to meet or exceed the Cummins
L-10 superior performance requirements for diesel injector cleanliness.
This test was designed to measure performance levels for diesel injector cleanliness. The photos illustrate Cyclo C21 additive’s ability to clean and restore injectors.
SMOKE TEST RESULTS
Keeping
the injectors clean and operating efficiently also acts to reduce
smoking. Test results on 3 vehicles using Cyclo Diesel Fuel Injector
Cleaner show a substantial reduction in smoke
THE RESULT IS: REDUCED DOWNTIME! MORE POWER! IMPROVED MILEAGE!

TREATMENT: One quart treats up to 150 gallons. Use every 15,000 miles.
